The Malawi Prison Service says 121 inmates are sitting for this year’s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations that have commenced today.

According to the service’s spokesperson Chimwemwe Shaba, the figure has slightly increased from last year’s 118.

Shaba said out of the number, three are female prisoners at Mzuzu Prison.

In 2022 MSCE results, the Malawi Prison Service Reformatory Schools registered 68 percent pass rate with one prisoner from Mzuzu Prison scoring 16 points.

Zomba Central Prison registered a hundred percent pass rate.
