A 55-year-old primary school teacher at Chinkhwali Local Education Authority (LEA) school in Kasungu, Mphatso Makwacha (not his real name), has won 129 Million kwacha in Premier Bet’s football betting, to become the biggest winner in the game in Malawi.
It is reported that Makwacha staked 500 kwacha to beat the reining biggest winner Rajesh Janat, who won 109 million kwacha in 2019.
Asked about his plans on the amount he has won,the soft-spoken teacher said he will use part of the money to help victims of cyclone Freddy in Blantyre before he makes plans on how to invest the rest of the money.
On his part, Premier Bet Commercial Manger for Lilongwe Trevor Whitaker expressed excitement to see more people participating in the games under Premier Bet.
