President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera ordered the military department to honor the burial ceremony of veteran politician and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Chikwawa East Constituency late Clement Khembo.
Khembo was laid to rest on Thursday June 22,2023 at Bello Village, Tradional Authority(TA) Mulili in Chikwawa.
Present at the funeral ceremony were United Democratic Front (UDF) incumbent president Dr Bakili Muluzi,Minister of water and sanitation Honorable Abida Mia and Zililo Chiwambo another UDF party long time serving member.
In his speech,Chiwambo highlighted some great works the late Khembo played in strengthening the UDF party.
“Honorable Clement khembo was a real body for UDF.
“Khembo could not dump the party even if during challenges, hence the party will continue remembering him for ever, “said Chiwambo.
Khembo 89, died on Monday evening at Seventh Day Adventist Hospital after a long battle with keddiny failure.
He once served as UDF’s Minister of Physical Disability and Elderly.
The late Khembo survived with a wife,10 children and 31 grandchildren.
