Chitipa United captain Chris Lwemba has become the first player to win the team’s player of the month award for the month of June.
The defender beat Rajab Nyirenda and goalkeeper George Chikooka who were also nominated for the award.
Lwemba has received K100,000 from Mvuma Group of Companies who are the main sponsors of the award.
The Chitipa-based side is currently in position five on the TNM Super League log table, just a point behind fourth placed Ekwendeni Hammers.
The team has so far managed to beat super league heavyweights Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Nyasa Big Bullets and recently held Silver Strikers FC to a goalless draw in Lilongwe.
