A Chikwawa-based fast growing youth organization called Community Forum Organization (COFO) says it will soon provide school uniforms, shoes and learning materials to over 30 learners from Chinangwa primary school in the district who were identified as beneficiaries of sponsorship program.

This was disclosed by COFO Executive Director (ED) Joshua Malunga during an interface meeting with parents held at the organization’s office on August 3, 2023.

The Director also unveiled COFO’s plan of training teachers from Mantchombe and Chilongoma primary schools under the Njira “Pathway” Project.

Said Malunga:”The teachers will be equipped with teaching models, approaches targeting underperforming learners to catch up with fast learners.”

He said the training for primary school teachers is slated to take place before the start of the next academic calendar.

Among other things, the interface meeting also dwelled much on sharing knowledge concerning the performance of the children in the last terms and contributing factors with the aim of discovering better teaching approaches and creating a conducive environment for primary learners.

Among others, COFO also distributed clothes to both guardians and children as well as toothpaste and toothbrush to school going children.

Currently, COFO through Charlotte from Germany is conducting free summer lessons with standard 6 learners at Mantchombe primary school.

While applauding the progress of the summer lessons, one of the guardians asked COFO to consider other classes, which the Director, Malunga agreed to and waived for the incorporation of standard 2, 3 4 and 5 with immediate effect.
