United Transformation Movement(UTM) Eastern Region Deputy campaign director Mwayi Kamuyambeni, has on Saturday dumped his party and joined the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
Speaking when MCP district officials were welcoming him into the party, Kamuyambeni said he has joined the party to contribute effectively to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s vision for the country’s development.
“I have seen that the current ruling MCP has at heart the dream to develop Malawi. A lot of development activities are happening under current MCP leadership and I want to be part of that,” said Kamuyambeni.
On his part, MCP Ntcheu District Chairman Mlalazi Senzani said everyone is welcome to join the party as it strives to serve Malawians better.
“The MCP door is open for everyone and you are all welcomed to join MCP so as we develop Malawi,” he said.
Kamuyambeni who was a former Democratic Progressive Party(DPP) member of Parliament for Ntcheu West Constituency (2014-2019) joined UTM in 2020.
