Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has failed to dislodge Chitipa United at the summit of the TNM Super League log table as they came from behind to draw 1-all against Kamuzu Barracks in a midweek fixture at Kamuzu Stadium.
A win at Kamuzu Stadium would have taken the Lali-Lubani boys to the top above Chitipa and second placed FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
Olson Kanjira scored for the visitors in the first half but Lawrence Chaziya equalized for the Nomads in the second half.
In another midweek fixture, Silver Strikers returned to winning ways as they smashed Moyale Barracks 4-1 at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in Lilongwe.
Gustin Simkonda put the soldiers ahead just five minutes into the game but the Central Bankers equalized through Innocent Shema in the 31st minute from the penalty spot.
The other goals for Silver Strikers came from Patrick Macheso and Chinsinsi Maonga who scored a brace.
Elsewhere, a lone goal by Samuel Adeyemi was enough to give Rumphi United maximum points as they beat bottom placed Extreme FC 1-nil at Rumphi Stadium.
Chitipa United remain top on the log table with 39 points after playing 21 games followed by FCB Nyasa Big Bullets who have accumulated 37 points from 18 games, level with Wanderers who have played 20 games but the People’s team have a superior goal difference.
Extreme FC, Red Lions and Moyale Barracks are at the bottom of the log table.
