Malawi Women’s National Football Team, the Scorchers, on Monday baptized Seychelles 17-0 in an international friendly match at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
Temwa Chawinga, Vanessa Chikupira and Chikondi Gondwe netted a hatrick each as Leticia Chinyamula, Sarah Mlimbika and Sabina Thom were among the scorers.
The two teams will meet again on Thursday at the same venue.
The Scorchers are using the matches to fine-tune for the forthcoming Cosafa Women’s Championship, starting next month in South Africa.
The Malawi’s female footballers are ranked 159 by FIFA while Seychelles are in position 163.
