Burial of former Malawi Congress Party (MCP) leader late John Zenus Ungapake (JZU) Tembo will take place on Wednesday 4th October 2023.
Albert Mbawala who is chairperson of the special committee for the funeral ceremony told the media on Friday that burial will take place in Tembo’s home district of Dedza.
Mbawala disclosed Tembo’s body will be taken from Goodwill Mortuary where it is currently being kept, to his residence in Lilongwe on Monday.
According to Mbawala, the body will lay for viewing at Malawi Square on Tuesday before leaving for Dedza.
JZU Tembo, a right hand man of the the country’s first President Ngwazi Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda died on Wednesday 27th September at City Centre Clinic in Lilongwe. He was 91 years old.
