Malawi President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera on Tuesday launched Human papillomavirus (HPV), Tipewe Cholera and COVID-19 campaign in Likoma District.
The launch of the two also went side by side with the launch of the National Community Health Framework for 2023-2030.
Speaking during the function Chakwera said health workers play a crucial role in the enhancement of health services.
“But most importantly, I want to thank you, our Community Health workers, because of your tremendous commitment in the provision of Community Health Servicesin the country.
“Your untiring dedication to service is inspiring and worthy of commendation. You are national heroes and we don’t take you for granted, ” he said.
The president also thanked all donor partners, including UNICEF, WHO, USAID, The Global Fund, GAVI, Lastmile Health, Malawi Red Cross Society, Africa CDC, AMREF Malawi, Partners in Health,
Mother2mother, Embassy of Iceland, JTI, the Health Services Joint Fund and other partners and private sector players for continuing to support Government in the
implementation of Health services, especially Community Health Services in the country.
“My special thanks also go to our partners who have technically and financially supported in organising this event today. I must also thank World Bicycle Relief for the durable bicycles they provide for our Community.”
