Pioneer of Muvi wa Chilungamo visionary news, Bantu Saunders Jumah, has advised President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to stop accusing the main opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for creating a mess the country is facing today.
In his recent national address, President Chakwera warned all those who are in the position of leadership and who know that they are responsible for creating the mess the country is in that he will deal with them soon enough.
Jumah has, however, asked Chakwera to instead threaten officials in his own government and himself for the mess the country is in today observing that lack of physical financial discipline and rampant corruption have created the mess in his government.
Speaking through his face book page followed by millions of people in Malawi and Africa, Jumah has pleaded with President Chakwera to stop blaming the DPP for the mess in government reminding him that DPP and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika did not send him to borrow K8 trillion in his 3 years he has been in government.
Jumah said it is sad that President Chakwera each and every time has been blaming the DPP for every mistake in his government advising him to learn from his mistakes by accepting the wrong and do what is right for the citizens to restore their lost trust in him.
He observed that President Chakwera is failing to point a figure at himself, his Vice Dr. Saulosi Chilima and Cabinet Ministers who are also doing the same saying no wonder that they are all in jovial mood celebrating Extended Credit Facility (ECF) from the IMF for an early Christmas.
The Muvi Visionary news Pioneer has therefore, reminded Malawians that in 2006 during the reign of the DPP under Professor Bingu wa Mutharika, IMF and World Bank wrote-off Malawi’s debts and because of over excitement for landslide victory in 2009, Professor Bingu wa Mutharika started borrowing money from the international community.
He said from 2009-2019 the three leaders: Professor Bingu wa Mutharika, Madam Dr. Joyce Banda and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika borrowed from the international community K3,16 trillion in public debts.
Jumah said from June, 2020 to 16th November, 2023 the MCP government under President Chakwera squandered K5,18 trillion with no visible project on the ground claiming that this is minus Makanjira Road project by Saudi Fund and IMF’s Extended Credit Facility Programme worth US$174 million.
“The IMF and World Bank have opened the doors to chain Malawi pushing public debts to K8 Trillion and with K3,16 trillion left by three governments, the debts have reached over K11 trillion,” said Jumah.
He expressed fears that by the election date in September, 2025 the public debts will be over K15 trillion warning Malawians that the IMF and World Bank can do any means to come back and write-off the country’s debts after 2006.
Jumah has liken the MCP as a bad carpenter who always blame his tools advising President Chakwera that if he need development in Malawi, the first enabler is mindset change that K8 trillion public debts was not borrowed by the DPP.
