Malawi national football team, The Flames, have suffered their first defeat under coach Patrick Mabedi as they were beaten 1-0 by Tunisia in a World Cup qualifier played at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) on Tuesday afternoon.

Mabedi maintained a majority of the lineup that started against Liberia last Friday, with only Lanjesi Nkhoma being replaced by Wisdom Mpinganjira.

It was a balanced affair between the two sides but a controversial penalty in the 87th minute made the difference as Youssef Msakni converted the spot kick to claim the victory for the visitors.

This is the first defeat for the Flames since Mabedi took charge of the team which is currently ranked 124 in the world.
