Castel Challenge Cup: Misheck Botoman scores twice as Wanderers beat Moyale 3-0 to reach semi-finals

Misheck Botoman scored two first-half goals as Mighty Mukuru Wanderers beat Moyale Barracks 3-0 to book themselves a place in the Ibongetse Castel Challenge Cup semi-finals.

Botoman opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, heading home from a Stanley Sanudi’s well taken corner-kick.

Three minutes later, Botoman completed his brace with a powerful strike after receiving a pass from Wisdom Mpinganjira.

In the second half, Wanderers continued to dominate play and with just six minutes before the end of the match, Vincent Nyangulu scored the third goal for the Lali Lubani boys.

Nyangulu scored for the Nomads with a beautiful header from a corner-kick which was also taken by Sanudi.

In the 89th minute, Moyale’s Robert Mphezi was shown marching orders by referee Kondwani Kamwendo following a dangerous tackle on Wanderers midfielder Felix Zulu.

The win mean that the Nomads will face the winner between Nyasa Big Bullets and Ekwendeni Hammers in the semi-finals.

Bangwe All Stars who progressed to the semi-finals after beating Chitipa United on post match penalties on Saturday, will face the winner between Silver Strikers and Blue Eagles FC.
