Malawi Police Services has announced that the cases of attacking people with albinism have drastically reduced compared with similar cases in the past.
Malawi Police Spokesperson Peter Kalaya said only six minor cases habe been recorded so far. Kalaya commended Malawians for the support which has helped the reduction of the attacks.
The government through the Ministry of Lands in collaboration with the Department of Disability and Elderly Affairs embarked on the project in 2021.

The houses are fully secured with fixed steel doors, burglar bar windows and bathrooms and kitchen are inside the houses. The houses also have fences around them to enhance security.
