The Malawi Government through the Office of President and Cabinet has terminated a contract with Tiyanjane Mlangeni who was working as a horticulture assistance at State House for allegedly posting on social media issues to do with State House.

Communication signed by Shadreck Ching’oma for Secretary to the President and Colleen Zamba says Mlangeni has been posting on social media how some members were disgruntled on how Christmas hampers were packed in 2022.

”It is surprising to note that a recent report that this office has received from chief of staff is indicating that in this month of December 2023, you have also authored and circulated on social media several voice notes castigating senior members of staff at state residence and this has brought dispute to the state residence,” reads the communication.

It adds Mlangeni will be given one month Salary in accordance with Article IX of the employment contract and eligible to a 15% gratuity under Article XI (1) and XI (2) of employment contract.

There have been voice notes circulating on social media with a female voice explaining some of the things alleged to have been happening at state house.

Among others, Mlangeni threatened to expose corrupt acts by some senior officials at State House.
