All set for 2023 TNM Super League prize presentation ceremony on Friday

Super League of Malawi (SULOM) says all is set for the prize presentation ceremony for the 2023 TNM Super League campaign this coming Friday, 19th January, 2024 in Blantyre.

According to SULOM and league sponsors, TNM Limited,the red carpet gala will take place at Mount Soche Hotel where youthful musician, Saint, will perform live to spice up the glamour.

During the event, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will be officially crowned champions after retaining the title for the fifth time in succession where Dedza Dynamos forward Clement Nyondo will collect the Golden Boot Award after notching 16 goals.



Meanwhile, four players, namely; goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu, Patrick Mwaungulu, Chimwemwe Idana and Nyondo were nominated to contest for the player of the season award.

Five other players; Patrick Mwaungulu, Chimwemwe Idana, Robert Saizi, Chikondi Kamanga and Lloyd Aaron are in contention for the Best Midfielder and four defenders; Lawrence Chaziya, Stanley Sanudi, Clyde Senaji and Chris Lwemba were nominated for the Best Defender accolade.

TNM Super League, is the top football division in Malawi.

The league was created in 1986 and was first sponsored by Gillet Nacet.

It was composed of 8 teams comprising of 5 teams from Blantyre and Districts Football League (BDFL) and 3 teams from Lilongwe and Districts Football League (LDFL).

The first game was played on March 15, 1986 involving Mitco FC and Admarc Tigers FC (later known as Azam Tigers FC).

Mitco FC won the game 1-0 a goal scored by Lameck Botha in the 21st minute.
