Sudan Mining Minister arrives in Malawi ahead of Mining Investment Forum

Minister of Mining in South Sudan, Martin Gama Abucha, and his delegation have arrived in Malawi ahead of the Mining Investment Forum, scheduled for 24-25 April, 2024, at BICC in Lilongwe.

Malawi’s Minister of Mining, Monica Chang’anamuno, who welcomed the delegation at Kamuzu International Airport, said that the forum will provide a platform for mining experts to network, share knowledge, and learn from each other in the mining sector, to drive economic transformation in Malawi.

In his remarks, the Sudanese Minister emphasised that his participation in the forum will foster his country’s participation and contribution to utilizing mineral resources, ensuring value addition in the mining sector for the benefit of both nations.

Other international delegates who have arrived in the country include Tanzania’s Deputy Minister of Mining, Steven Kiruswa, and a delegation from the African Union.

The two-day forum will be graced by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera as part of the ATM Strategy Week, aimed at promoting investments in the sectors of Agriculture, Tourism, and Mining to transform the economy.
