Malawi Police Service (MPS) has announced the appointment of inspector Muhammad Matola Ali as Blue Eagles FC Chief Administration Officer.
National Police Headquarters announced the appointment of Ali in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to the statement, Ali emerged successful during interviews for the post amongst shortlisted MPS serving members.
The appointment means he is responsible for all administrative affairs of MPS’s three football teams namely Blue Eagles FC, Blue Eagles Women and Blue Eagles Reserve.
Furthermore, MPS has also announced the introduction of a Sports Board within its structure.
The board is responsible for policy, oversight and strategic direction of all sporting codes in the Service.
“This means he is henceforth, responsible for all administrative affairs of MPS’s three football teams (Blue Eagles FC, Blue Eagles Women and Blue Eagles Reserve).
“The Service congratulates Inspector Alli and the entire membership of the Sports Board on their appointments as they execute their respective roles,” reads part of the statement on the appointment signed by National Police publicist Senior Superintendent Peter Kalaya.
Currently, Blue Eagles FC, Ma Eagle are featuring in the Chipiku Stores Premier Division, under the Central Region Football Association(CRFA) and are determined to return in to the country’s top flight league administered by the Super League of Malawi(SULOM).
