Malawi and Iceland have launched various projects in Mangochi and Nkhotakota Districts aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
On Monday, President Lazarus Chakwera held bilateral talks with the visiting Prime Minister of Iceland, Bjarni Benediktsson, at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.
Speaking during a state banquet at Kamuzu Palace, Chakwera said that even though Iceland invests its resources in the development programs of several countries, it invests more development resources to Malawi than any other.
In his remarks, Iceland Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson said that Iceland would continue supporting Malawi in development activities.
Speaking to journalists earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nancy Tembo said that Iceland is currently implementing projects in the country which are already making positive impacts.
Building mutual trust, understanding and collaboration through cultural and educational programmes can help cultivate popular support for the wider relationship in countries.
Bilateral negotiations are frequently utilized in trade agreements between two countries. Because they involve fewer interested parties than multilateral trade negotiations, bilateral trade negotiations can sometimes be completed more easily and quickly.
