KB move second on the Log table after beating Karonga United 2-1 in Lilongwe

Kamuzu Barracks Football Club (KB) moved to second position on the log table following their 2-1 victory over Karonga United on Thursday afternoon at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

Zeliat NKhoma put KB in front just 15 minutes from kick-off with a long range shot beating Karonga United goalkeeper MacLean Mwale.

Two minutes later the soldiers scored their second goal, this time around through Hope Namadzunda who connected  well a corner kick taken by Gregory Nachipo.

Saulos Moyo almost pulled one back for Karonga at the half hour mark after dribbling past KB defender Herbert Wayekha only to shoot wide for a goal kick.

Moyo finally found the back of the net  a minute before half time after receiving an assist from Blessings Mwalilino.

The second half saw the visitors coming wave after wave inorder to find an equaliser but they still failed to find the back of the net until referee Godfrey Nkhakananga blew the final whistle to mark the end of the match.

After the match, Zeliati Nkhoma was voted man of the match.

Following the win, KB have now moved to second position on the log table with 18 points, four points behind league leaders Silver Strikers who are facing defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on Sunday.

Karonga United are on position 11 with 9 points after playing 9 games just like KB.
