Bangwe All Stars’ 1-0 win against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday has given them confidence that they can leave the relegation zone.

Although the team remains in 15th position with 15 points from 20 games despite the win, beating the defending champions is a significant morale booster.

In a post match interview, the team’s Head Coach Trevor Kajawa said: “This is the start of Bangwe All Stars pressing to leave the relegation zone. I told my boys we are not doing well in the league, and we need to start with Bullets; they did it, and I have to praise my boys.”

Speaking on the recipe for their recent good run, Kajawa explained: “The secret to our victory is hard work. Our tactic is to start defending and counter-attacking, which works.”

On his part,FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Head Coach Kalitso Pasuwa accepted defeat, saying: “We need composure when we get to the goal. Going forward, we need to quickly correct where we are making mistakes; it’s on counter-attacks.”

On whether they still have chances to defend the league as defending champions, Pasuwa said they still have more games to play, expressing optimism.
