UMP, Mibawa TV sign MoU ahead of the UMP Festival  next month

The organisers of the Urban Music People (UMP) Festival and Mibawa Television have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inorder to enhance the festival’s visibility and provide a state-of-the-art sound system.

The signing ceremony of the MoU took place in Blantyre on Friday, September 20, 2024, with Mibawa TV General Manager Tamandani Nkhwimba and UMP Festival Manager Mphatso Junior C Chaluluka representing Mibawa and UMP respectively.

Some of the artists expected to perform at this year’s event include Deep London from South Africa, Naimah from Zambia, Malawi’s international music star Onesimus, Ma Blacks as well as some local and international Djs.

This year’s UMP Festival is expected to take place in Cape Maclear, Mangochi district from 25th to 28th October.

Apart from music performances, this year’s festival which is expected to have an attendance of about 10,000 people, will include fashion shows, sports, philanthropic initiatives and community engagements such as parades and pop-up events.

Meanwhile, people have already started purchasing tickets to the event through a number of outlets across the country.
