“Our Diamond Jubilee is not only a time to honor the past but also to embrace the future with unwavering hope and determination,” Hichilema wrote, noting the continued blessings of unity, peace, and perseverance that have defined Zambia’s journey over the past six decades.

In his message, President Hichilema emphasized Zambia’s commitment to democracy, highlighting the peaceful transitions of power and respect for freedom of expression that have become hallmarks of the nation. He also touched on the strides made in local development through grassroots initiatives like the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), which plays a crucial role in empowering communities across the country.

Amid the challenges Zambia currently faces, particularly the impact of severe droughts, President Hichilema expressed optimism. He praised the country’s farmers and innovators for their work in developing sustainable solutions such as water harvesting and precision agriculture. These efforts, he said, demonstrate the nation’s resilience and faith in God’s provision.

The president also took the opportunity to celebrate Zambia’s rich cultural heritage, symbolized by the songs and traditions that continue to unite the nation under the banner of “One Zambia, One Nation.” He recognized the country’s vibrant youth as Zambia’s greatest asset, stressing the importance of nurturing their potential to secure a prosperous future for generations to come.

Acknowledging Zambia’s natural wealth, President Hichilema reminded citizens of their responsibility to manage the country’s resources with care and integrity. He highlighted the need to tackle pressing modern challenges like climate change and corruption with patriotism and faith.

“As we honor the legacy of those who came before us, let us celebrate with gratitude and renew our commitment to build a brighter future together,” he urged. The president’s message was one of optimism and unity, calling on Zambians to continue working together under God’s guidance to build a more just and prosperous nation.

In closing, President Hichilema extended his well wishes to all Zambians, reiterating the importance of the nation’s unity and collective efforts in ensuring that Zambia shines for another 60 years and beyond.

“Happy Diamond Jubilee, fellow citizens. May we remain ever faithful to the spirit of One Zambia, One Nation, One People and the Spirit of One God,” he concluded.

This stirring message from the president served as a reminder of Zambia’s enduring strength and the hopeful path forward as the nation embarks on its next chapter.
