A man identified as Bifolo Chigango has died after being hit by a motor vehicle in Dowa District.
The accident occurred on Friday, November 15, at Msungwi Trading Centre along the Salima-Lilongwe Road.
The incident involved a Toyota Prado, registration number CA 633, driven by Lameck Fiwa, 43, who was traveling from Lilongwe towards Salima.
Upon reaching Msungwi Trading Centre, Fiwa hit Chigango, who was riding a motorcycle from the opposite direction and attempting to turn right.
As a result, Chigango sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Dowa District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The motor vehicle sustained front-end damage, while the motorcycle was extensively damaged.
Bifolo Chigago hailed from Kanthiti Village, Traditional Authority Chiwere, Dowa district.
Dowa Police are urging the public to follow traffic regulations to prevent such accidents.
