On Sunday, 1 December 2024, His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, along with the entire leadership of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), embarked on a whistle-stop tour in the southern region, focusing on areas along the Shire River. The event was aimed at mobilizing support for the party and engaging with local communities in preparation for the upcoming 2025 general elections.

The tour was organized to inform and educate people about the importance of voter registration, particularly in the districts of Nsanje, Chikwawa, and other regions such as Mangochi, Lilongwe, and Mzimba. This initiative reached a wide audience, ensuring that citizens across these areas were made aware of the election process and their critical role in shaping the country’s future.
