The Government of Israel has given the green light to 38 female candidates from Malawi to undergo medical examinations and police clearance for them to secure employment opportunities in that country.
In a statement signed by the ministry of labour principal secretary Chikondano Mussa, the 38, are expected to undergo both their medical screening process and police clearance from January 6 to 8,2025Â at Kamuzu Central Hospital(KCH) in Lilongwe and police headquarters at Area 30 in Lilongwe respectively.
The ministry has further advised the candidates to meet a requirement of K70,000 for the medical screening process and K5,000 for the police clearance .
Reads the statement in part:”Anyone who does not undergo medical and police criminal record clearance processes within the given time and places, will be deemed to no longer be interested in the job.”
The development follows the clearance of an initial list of 95 names that underwent the same process in October 2024 as the process of clearing names of successful individuals by the government of Israel continues in phases to fulfill 500 positions of the first job order in Israel.
The governments of Malawi and Israel signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) in April last year which seeks to deploy 3,000 Malawian farm workers to Israel.
