FCB Nyasa Big Bullets says long term contracts for players ensure confidence and commitment to the club as the new season approaches.

Newly signed head coach Peter Mponda expressed the enthusiasm following the contract renewal of 24 year old midfielder Yankho Singo who will stay at the club till 2028.

Singo and Mponda shake hands on contract renewal

Mponda said Singo’s contract renewal is a reward to the players extraordinary work as he has been instrumental to the  club and had a very good season.

“It’s also easy for me as a coach to do my planning, and this is very motivating. I feel good that we have secured him.”

Singo reacting to the renewal and working with the new coach said: “As a player, I believe that the secret to having a successful career is to listen to every coach. I don’t need to undermine him just because he is new or he was once an assistant to Pasuwa because now he is the head coach, he needs to be respected.

“I will give it all to him the way I used to play under my former coach, and we believe we will have a successful season with the new coach.”

Singo graduated from the club reserves in 2022 and has been an integral part of the squad for the last two seasons.

The Peoples team said it is still working on other players to extend their contracts with the club so that they are ready for the new season.
