Vice President Dr. Michael Usi on Friday handed over the reins to new Minister of Natural Resources and Climate Change,Owen Chomanika, as he moves on to his new role at the Ministry of State Responsible for Public Service Delivery.
Speaking to journalists, Dr. Usi reflected on the remarkable progress made in preserving Malawi’s natural resources, crediting the team he worked with for their incredible support.
“I am proud to pass on my knowledge and notes to Hon. Chomanika.
“I have no doubts he will succeed. My advice to him is to prioritize collaboration and the well-being of our planet, while keeping in mind the impact of our decisions on future generations,” said Usi.
As Minister of Natural Resources and Climate Change, Dr. Usi had been instrumental in launching initiatives like the e-waste management policy, aimed at creating a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
With his new role, Dr. Usi is expected to focus on enhancing public service delivery in the country.
