Muvi wa Chilungamo for Chakwera sentiments to remove failed Ministers

By Vincent Gunde

President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, has joined President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s sentiments made at his home-Malembo in Kasiya-Lilongwe to fire his ministers for failing to exercise their duties in the interest of the people they are serving.

Jumah has observed that the sentiments were already made in 2020 when Malawians raised their concerns with Chakwera’s first cabinet which included family members, brothers and sisters, church Pastors of the Malawi Assemblies of God, friends and relatives with not academic credentials.

He said after listening to the concerns of Malawians, President Chakwera assured Malawians that he has given his ministers six month to prove themselves to perform and if they fail, he will have no option, but to fire them.

Speaking through a Revolutionary voice, Jumah has observed that the same cabinet he appointed in 2020 is continuing to this day with some changes here and there even though there have been calls to fire some of non- performing ones but Chakwera paid a deaf ear to that.

Jumah said the country’s public health facilities have been running without essential drugs forcing patients and guardians to be going to the pharmacies to buy medications saying all this has been done in the eyes of Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo-Chiponda.

He said Chiponda has been presiding over in a Ministry which is failing to procure medical drugs but President Chakwera has maintained her to this day that she has performed well and in accordance with the instructions she was given by him.

The MRP President has agreed and conquer with someone speaking through social media platforms calling for President Chakwera to fire Two ministers, Samuel Kawale, for failing Farm Input Programme (AIP) and Sosten Gwengwe for failing to monitor prices of essential commodities in shops.

“Such failed ministers must be given time to go home, President Chakwera must take responsibility to start fixing the economy alerting President Chakwera that people are suffering, hence no need to politicize this matter,” said Jumah.

He said Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu was seen in the pictures receiving a map for new boundaries of Lake Malawi, meaning that the two countries Malawi and Tanzania have been holding talks but there’s no statement on this, and President Chakwera has said nothing, appealing to Kunkuyu to address Malawians.

Jumah has appealed to political parties, freedom fighters, CSOS, Admiral Kamlepo Kalua, Enock Chihana, Dr. Bakili Muluzi and all Malawians that the country’s democracy has grown for 30 years electing 5 presidents but dictatorial tendencies are continuing in the country.

He said in three elections, the same number of voters in a country of 20 million people have been voting for the President, saying out of 6.2 million people registered, 2.6 million voted expressing fears that the country cannot have a President elected with 2 million people describing this as no health democracy

Jumah said Malawi is too big, it need a president to be elected with 5 million votes urging      all electoral stakeholders to look at this seriously for the electoral body to go back to conduct fresh registration to register 11 million people for the country’s democracy not to be under threa.
