Pasuwa names squad for Comoros matches

Flames coach Kalisto Pasuwa has announced a 27-man squad to face Comoros in the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier.

The team will play Comoros in an away assignment at Bingu National Stadium on March 2 and in a home fixture at the same venue on March 8,2025.


Pasuwa, who recently signed a two-year deal as Flames’ full-time coach, has retained most of the backroom staff from his interim tenure.



The squad includes notable players such as Richard Chimbamba, George Chikooka, and Amos Sande as goalkeepers.

The defenders are Khumbo Banda, Cris Lwemba, McDonald Lameck, Maxwell Paipi, Nixon Mwase, Timothy Sulwimba, Alick Lungu, and Joseph MacDonald.

In the midfield, Pasuwa has opted for Moses Banda, Yankho Singo, Lloyd Aaron, Wongani Lungu, Chikumbutso Salima,Charles Nkhoma, Auspicious Kazongola, Zebron Kalima, Gaddie Chirwa, Wallace Adam, and Wisdom Mpinganjira.

The strikers include Allen  Chihana, Ephraim Kondowe, Olson Kanjira, and Saviel Emmanuel.

The winner of the Malawi-Comoros tie will face the winner of the South Africa-Egypt match in the final round of qualifiers.

The ultimate winner will secure a spot in the CHAN final tournament, scheduled to be take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in August.

The Flames are set to regroup at Mpira Village in Blantyre today to begin their preparations for the crucial matches.
