Flames midfielder Gerald Phiri Junior has parted ways with his South African club Baroka FC and signed a 3-year deal with Sudanese giants Al Hilal.
Phiri broke the news on social media on Saturday evening thanking Baroka FC for trusting his services and supporting him for the period he has been with the team
“I just want to say a big THANK YOU to @baroka_fc for the great and wonderful years we’ve had together. The time has come to turn a new page and say goodbye. I do so with a deep appreciation for each of you. Thank you to my management as well @siyavumasports @paul.siyavuma @wasser18,” reads the message.
Al Hilal are rumoured to have offered Baroka a lucrative package for the 28 year-old player who is known as the penalty and free-kick specialist.
Phiri moved to South Africa when he joined Bidvest Wits from Zimbabwean side Caps United.
He then had loan spells at Platinum FC in South Africa and Township Rollers in Botswana.
The attacking midfielder joined Baroka FC in 2019 from Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs) and made 52 appearances for the Limpopo outfit.
