Central region giants Silver Strikers on Monday came from behind to force a one all draw against spirited Dedza Dynamos at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
The visitors were the first to score through Clement Nyondo who scored just four minutes before the half hour mark after exchanging some passes with Charles Chipala and Promise Kamwendo.
The central bankers equalised just ten minutes in the second half through Zebron Kalima.
Both sides made some changes in the second half starting with Silver’s triple substitution in the opening minutes of the half.
Silver’s coach Daniel Kabwe substituted Stain Davie, Emmanuel Muyira and Maxwell Paipi, bringing in Frank Banda, Patrick Macheso and Taonga Chimodzi.
Later on the central bankers also introduced Mike Robert and Chisisi Maonga in place of Hardy Ng’andu and Duncain Nyoni while Dedza Dynamos brought in Limbani Phiri to replace Lameck Gamphani.
After the match, Silver Strikers assistant coach McDonald Yobe, blamed his strikers for failing to utilize scoring opportunities.
“Dedza is a good side and they played well today but it was us who created a lot of chances unfortunately our strikers failed to use those chances. This has been our biggest problem this season but we are still working on that; very soon people will see an improved Silver side,” said Yobe.
On his part Dedza Dynamos coach Dan Dzimkambani, expressed satisfaction with the result knowing that the team is just coming from a 1-nil defeat against Nyasa Big Bullets.
He said, “It’s good that the guys have responded well from our loss against Bullets and we will keep on encouraging them so that we continue collecting points in the coming games.”
Silver Strikers are now on eighth position with eight points from five games and their next assignment is against second placed Blue Eagles FC at Nankhaka on Sunday.
On the other hand, Dynamos who are perched on seventh position with eight points as well, will be away against Waka Waka Tigers at Mpira Stadium on Saturday.
