Nankhumwa and Jeffrey left in the cold
…the two not invited for a DPP NGC meeting

Divisions continues to widen in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as reports from the former ruling perty indicates that that the embattled Kondwani Nankhumwa and Secretary General Grizelder Jeffrey have been sidelined at the party’s central executive meeting taking place at Peter Mutharika’s PAGE residence in Mangochi.

Confirming this development Jeffrey said Nankhumwa and herself have not been invited to attend the high-level Tuesday meeting.
Jeffrey said the development vindicates what they have been saying all along that they are not responsible for the prevailing squabbles in the party.
“This only proves that me and Nankhumwa are not the problem in DPP. There is a court order reinstating us on our positions, but look, they are there meeting while excluding us” said Jeffrey.

This development is not surprising as the Nankhumwa and Jeffrey have not been seeing eye to eye with Pater Mutharika’s led faction in what is seen as the biggest leadership crisis since the party was established in 2005.
Nankhumwa and Jeffrey have been fighting to wrestle power from Peter Mutharika and the two do not support suggestions of a comeback of the former Malawi President to represent the DPP in 2025.
