One of the long Serving Sisters of the Dedza Diocese of the Catholic Church Sr. Catherine Buya has been laid to rest on Wednesday afternoon. She died on Sunday, 10th of July, 2022 at Kamuzu Central Hospital after a long time of illness.
The funeral Mass which took place at Mtendere Parish Church begun at 10:00am and was presided over by Msgr. John Chithonje of Dedza Diocese with hundreds of Christians, the clergy and Sisters.
In her eulogy, the Mother Superior of the Presentation sisters said, Sr Catherine was an advisor to the sisters, always smiling, was very active in her vocation, she loved doing works of charity, she used to take care of the elderly and orphans.
While Msgr. John Chithonje eulogized that, Sr. Catherine was a sister for everyone, she did not think of her problems, even in her illness, she used to doing pastoral work.
Sr. Buya was among the first sisters who started the Congregation of Presentation sisters of Virgin Mary Sisters in Dedza Diocese.
