Lilongwe Water Board Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Alfonso Chikuni who was removed from his post with immediate effect and seconded to Ministry of Agriculture as Chief director has turned down the new post.
Just a day after Chief Secretary to the government Lloyd Muhara, told Chikuni that he will now be Chief Director Responsible for Irrigation and Water Development, Chkuni has tendered in his resignation. His initial contract was due to end in March Next year but but he has opted to go earlier.
Chikuni is revered for turning the parastatal from a loss-making entity to being one of the profit turnovers, increased supply and number of customers.
His post at Lilongwe Water board has taken by Director of corporate affairs Moses Mwenye on a temporary basis
Kondwani Nakhumwa said the whole point of government making the changes is to improve service delivery in its departments.
