A fourth year Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery ( MBBS) student at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (( KUHEs) formerly College of Medicine ( Lilongwe campus) Barrack Augustine Fabiano is seeking for well wishers to support him in sourcing financial support for the completion of his studies at the university.
A 25-year-old boy who fellow students describe ‘ a class genius’ has told this publication that he is desperate that may not complete his MBBS degree because of financial challenges he is meeting ahead on.
Fibiano said that he is one of 43 students who were initially sponsored by Daeyang Medical School Scholarship Project that started back in 2015 and later the sponsorship was withdrawn in 2019 and terminated without their knowledge.
” I am one of the 43 students who were initially sponsored by Daeyang Medical School Scholarship Project that started back in 2015.
“Late in 2019 the sponsorship was withdrawn and terminated without our knowledge.
“We tried to drag the issue to court but it did not yield any productive results, ” said Fabiano.
Adding ” The most painful thing is that the previous sponsors left each one of us in debt of 2,800,000 MKW to the Kuhes university hence forcing us to source funds so that we continue with our studies.
“Most students managed to sort their balances however I have tried to source the funds to no avail. I tried to search wherever I could but no help has availed.”
Fabiano revealed that few days ago the college sent an email communicating that all students with outstanding balances have to sort their balances before of 30 July 2022 and failure to do so will mean being withdrawn from the University completely.
” I have no hope nor pillar to lean on since my family can not manage to settle this balance.
Please i need someone to help me. I am on the verge of being withdrawn while I was previously on a scholarship that catered everything, ” he cried foul.
He said he only needs a financial support of K2,800,000 to settle his outstanding fees balances and K1,350,000 for the annual tuition fees until he finishes his studies in the next three years.
“I am in need of financial support of MK2,800,000 to settle my outstanding tuition fees balance and MK1,350,000 for my annual tuition fees until when I finish my studies in the next 3 years.
“Please I am looking forward to your favourable consideration to my request. Thank you for going through my application,” said Fibiano.
