Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) president Arthur Peter Mutharika has distanced himself and his wife, Gertrude, from claims making rounds, that they endorsed hopefuls for the party’s top job.
Claims were rife the two had initially favoured former Central Bank governor, Dr. Dalitso Kabambe and of late, DPP eastern region vice president, Bright Msaka.
“All this is not true,” reads a statement, signed by Mutharika’s spokesperson Shadric Namalomba.
Msaka recently throw his name in the hat for the DPP presidency and has quickly become the favourite to win. Many people are saying that Msaka has the experience of working in government and he is also clean from any corruption links
