Malawi’s celebrated hip-hop artist Penjani Kalua, who is better known as Fredokiss, is yet to announce a date for his planned parade against the sentencing of Mussa John, who was convicted for being found in possession of cannabis.
Fredokiss says, currently, he is working on logistics for the planned protest which is expected to be held in Blantyre.
He says the protest is against what he claims selective justice by the judiciary.
Mussa aged 19 was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment with hard labour in June, this year, after being convicted of possessing Indian hemp.
However, his sentence attracted mixed reactions from the general public with some, describing it as harsh.
Meanwhile, some human rights organisations have applied for judicial review on his sentence.
