Malawi’s representatives Nyasa Big Bullets have been eliminated in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League following their 2-nil loss (4-0 on aggregate) to Simba SC of Tanzania.

The People’s team kissed good bye to the continental showpiece on Sunday at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam after Moses Phiri scored twice in the 28th and 50th minute to ensure victory for the home side.

The Tanzanian heavyweights won with the same scoreline last weekend at the Bingu National Stadium with Phiri and John Bocco scoring for Simba.

Simba will now face either Red Arrows or Primeiro de Agosto in the second round of the competition.
