In an effort to address school level challenges that come during the registration and payment of examination fees for Primay School Leaving Certificate of Education ( PLSCE), Junior Certificate of Education ( JCE) and the Malawi School Certificate of Education ( MSCE), the Malawi National Examinations Board ( MANEB) on Wednesday October 12,2022 successfully launched the e-registration and e-payment of examinations fees system for the three exam levels.
The new system which was piloted in 2021and used to register 2022 candidates for PSLCE, JCE and MSCE in 19 Education districts in the country replaces the Microsoft Excel-based system which has been in use for the past decades.
Speaking during the launch in Lilongwe, MANEB Executive Director Dorothy Nampota , MANEB
has urged parents and schools to ensure that all candidates register online as Maneb has stopped using the previous system.
The system further aims at addressing the problem of misappropriation of school fees by school administrators and long time spent processing of candidate’s data submitted manually.
Its benefits include; No withholding of candidates’ results due to unpaid examination fees,no income loss through non-remittance of examination fees, full access to total estimated revenue, reduced registration queries, and easy processing of candidates’ identity cards
It is being supported by the Ministry of Education through the Equity with Quality Learning at Secondary (EQUALS) Project with support from the World Bank.
