Nyasa Big Bullets on Sunday clinched the 2022 FDH Cup title after beating their reserve side Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve 3-1 in an entertaining match played at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

Babatunde Adepoju put Bullets ahead with a quick tap in just 12 minutes from kick-off but Bullets Reserve equalised through Happy Mphepo just a minute before half time.

Chimwemwe Idana restored Bullets’ lead 67 minutes in the second half with a fabulous finish before Anthony Mfune sealed the victory for the main team 10 minutes later with a beautiful header after receiving a cross from Gomezgani Chirwa who also provided an assist for the first and second goal.

After the match Bullets defender Frank Willard was voted man of the match while striker Babatunde Adepoju received an award for finishing as top goal scorer with five goals.

Speaking in a post match interview, Nyasa Big Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa admitted that it was a tough game and praised his boys for putting up a spirited performance.

His counterpart Enos Chatama accepted defeat saying Bullets were just better than the junior team.

He said, “In the first half we played very well but in the second half Bullets came stronger on us. We lost a lot of possession especially in the midfield; Our colleagues were just better than us and they deserve the victory. Congratulations to them.”

Nyasa Big Bullets has now become the second team to win the FDH Bank Cup after Silver Strikers won its inaugural edition last year.
