Historical! Nyasa Bullets stuffers first defeat in the TNM Super League

TNM Super League defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Mafco FC who beat the league leaders 1-nil at Dedza Stadium.

Zikani Sichinga scored the only goal of the match just five minutes before half time beating Bullets goalkeeper Richard Chimbamba from the near post.

This was the first time the Kalisto Pasuwa’s team had lost in the league after playing 25 games unbeaten.

Mafco’s Bernard Chimaimba was voted man of the match for helping his side beat the People’s team after nine years.

Before this game, the last time Bullets lost to Mafco was on 14th December 2013 and Richard Mbulu and Saidi Mtekema scored a goal each for the Salima-based soldiers.

In Kasungu, Silver Strikers beat Kamuzu Barracks 2-1 at Kasungu Stadium.

Chawanangwa Kaonga and Stain Dave scored for the central bankers while Zeliat Nkhoma scored KB’s consolation.

In Karonga it was a five goal thriller as Karonga United beat Red Lions 3-2 at Karonga Stadium.

Mphatso Nkhoma, Sherrif Shamama and Gabinho Daudi were on target for the home side while Brown Gondwe scored a brace for the soldiers.
