Hip-hop musician Noel Chikoleka popularly known as ‘Phyzix’ in music circles has called on Malawians to embrace the spirit of giving and show more support to orphans and vulnerable children in order to secure a better future for them.

The rapper made the call after spending his Christmas day with children at Zoe Foundation, an orphanage founded by a 26-year-old lady Temwani Chilenga in Area 25, Lilongwe.

He said, people should not wait to have a lot of things in life for them to start helping others but to use the little they have to make a difference.

He said, “We don’t need to have a lot to be able to share. Sometimes we just need to make ourselves available and with the little we have, let’s be able to share.”
” I am urging people in different parts of Malawi to come together to help these children and other vulnerable children across the country. They are just like any other children and whatever help we can offer can make a difference in their lives,” he said.

Phyzix who was also raised in Area 25, was accompanied by his brother Alexander, fellow hip-hop artists Gwamba and Third Eye, music producer Martin Angelz and members of his record label ‘It’s Only Entertainment.’

During the visit the team shared food, drinks, gifts and also took time to share stories music and dances with the children.

Speaking after the donation, Chilenga was grateful for the charitable efforts made by the musician and his friends saying the day will go down in the history of the Foundation as one of the memorable days.

Temwani Chilenga founded Zoe Foundation in 2018 and the non-profit making NGO is currently taking care of 95 orphans of which 55 are girls and 40 are boys.

A recent study put the total number of orphans in the country at 850,000 to 1.2 million, rising to 2 million by the end of next year.
