A grouping under the banner Concerned Malawi Citizens has challenged government to be transparent when relocating all refuges and asylum seekers to Dzaleka Refugee Camp.

Speaking during a press briefing on Monday, Chairperson for the grouping, Wells Khama uploaded Government efforts saying this may be a positive move towards protecting indigenous businessmen as most of the refugees have occupied businesses meant for Malawians.

Khama further asked government to disclose information about the amount of funds allocated to the exercise.

He said they expect government to fully implement the exercise and to ensure that the set timeline is met.

Last week, Government through the ministry of Home Land and Security announced that it intends to relocate refugees from April 15 -27, 2023.
