Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have failed to move level on points with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the TNM Super League after dropping the other two points in a 0-0 draw against Moyale Barracks at the Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Nomads have dropped points in back to back games as they failed to play their usual game at the heavily criticized pitch as Barracks had their two penalty appeals denied by Newton Nyirenda in the match.
Coach for Moyale, Nicholas Mhango, said his side played very well but were not given two penalties they got in the match.
“The play was very good, every team was prepared that’s why we have drew. We could have had two penalties which i saw but have not been given anyway we will go back to correct our problems.” Said Mhango.
Meanwhile, Coach player for the Nomads, Alfred Manyozo Jr had the old song saying Mzuzu Stadium is not a football ground and downplayed the absence of Christopher Kumwembe as their problem.
“How can someone expect players to play at this pitch? If we want to go far ahead, let’s ignore these kinds of grounds. We did not miss him [Kumwembe], the coach signed many players but now why communicating very late like that when the player has travelled?” Said Angry Manyozo.
The Nomads had a lions share of possession in the first 45 minutes with Francis Mkonda, Gaddie Chirwa and Misheck Botomani going close but missed their chances. Msowoya saw his shot saved by Harawa on 48th minute before game changer, Khumbo Mhone coming in for Prince Phiri and Mkonda paved a way for Vitumbiko Kumwenda on 55th minute.
Mhone went down in the box but Nyirenda paved his hands on 59th minute before Rafael Phiri’s shot was blocked by Chaziya as the hosts started dominating. Mphatso Kamanga came in for Ngalande but Moyale’s best chance was the free kick by Simkonda but Thole saved it before Mphatso Kasonga coming in for Magaga.
Moyale had another penalty appeal denied on 90th minute after Miracle Gabeya seemed to handle the ball in the box. The result leaves Moyale on 6th with 6 points from 5 games while the Nomads are up to second with 11 points.
Meanwhile, Saulos Moyo netted a lone 75th minute goal as Karonga United beat Civo United 1-0 at the Karonga Stadium. The result takes Karonga up to 4th with 8 points while Civo are 9th with 5 points from 5 games.
Finally in Lilongwe, Lameck Gamphani scored a goal to rescue a point for Dedza Dynamos in a four goal thriller as they play a 2-2 with Blue Eagles at Nankhaka Stadium. Christopher Gototo put Eagles ahead on 9th minute but Clement Nyondo eclipsed it on 25 minute before Micium Mhone’s 63rd minute goal restored the lead but Gamphani cancelled it 5 minutes later. The result means Eagles are fifth now with 6 points while Dynamos are 9th and have 5 points.
Action continues on Sunday as Chitipa United host Extreme FC at Karonga Stadium and Ekwendeni United date MAFCO FC. FCB Nyasa Big Bullets still lead the table with 13 points from 5 games.
