Late Mumba’s wife alleged murder case ruling on July 13

High Court Judge Mzondi Mvula yesterday set July 13,2023 as the date he will deliver his ruling on a case involving the wife of the late professor Peter Mumba, who is suspected to have had a hand in the death of her husband.

Anne Mumba, 51, of Chituka Village, Traditional Authority (TA) Malengamzoma, Nkhatabay District is suspected to have committed the act in April,2020.

Before adjourning the case on Thursday morning, the state paraded their last witness detective Steve Kamoto, bringing the total number of witnesses to nine in the case.

Judge Mvula told the defence to submit their arguments by 2 June and the prosecution until 20 June before his ruling on July 13, which will determine whether or not the wife, Annie Mumba, has a case to answer.

Mumba, a Professor of chemistry at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) died on April 25 2020 but his death raised suspicions.
