Urban Music Star Nic Thindwa lands Embassy Role

UK based Urban Music star Nic Thindwa has traded the mic and studio for a new career path finding himself in the corridors of diplomacy as one of the Embassy staff at the Malawi High Commission in London.

Thindwa confirmed to 247Malawi News that he is now part of the Malawi Embassy team in an administrative role. “It’s true that I have secured a role to work for My Country and serve my fellow Malawians in the office of the high commission London, I am excited and looking forward to deliver the best service to my fellow Malawians based in UK and other countries that are served by the UK Office” Said Thindwa.

New Career path: Thindwa



Thindwa who has been based in the United Kingdom for over a decade has highlighted that he feels he brings value to the office with the advantage of having a good understanding of the most challenges that those in the diaspora face “I have great knowledge of the country United Kingdom , I have a lot of connection with the Malawian community having been involved in a lot of community work and events for the past years and I can relate with their struggles and the many questions they always have in regards to how the embassy works” added Thindwa. He feels he is good fit and will do his best to serve the Malawian community.

Thindwa rose to fame through the many songs he has released over the years as an urban musician. His music careers has seen him collaborate with artists like Blasto Dan Lu, Rudo Chakwera Pon G and others. He is also known for his Political activism that saw him release some politically themed tunes such as “Owinawina”.

Asked if working in the Diplomatic Office will mean an end to his music career, Thindwa argued that his new career wont stop him from recording songs “ The beauty of Music is that it give me opportunity to compose songs on various topics and I will continue to release songs whenever opportunity arises” said Thindwa.
