Oneof the country’s top financial institutions First Capital Bank Malawi plc has on Tuesday announced the appointment of Agness Jazza as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from July 21, 2023.
Jazza who becomes the first female CEO for the financial institution replaces Spiro Georgopolus who retired from the bank after a one-year tenure.
According to a statement signed by FCB chairman Terrance Davidson, Jazza established her career with the bank immediately after completing her undergraduate studies.
“Agness has for the past 25 years risen up the ranks due to her talent, hard work and loyalty. Her success is a true reflection of FCB’s belief in nurturing talent and commitment to staff development,” he said.
Prior to this position, Jazza was FCB Deputy CEO and has held various senior positions where she has been instrumental in driving the bank’s business growth and spearheading key strategic and operational changes.
She is a graduate of the Stellenbosch University’s executive development program and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Management College of Southern Africa (Mancosa).
First Capital Bank is a subsidiary of FMB Capital Holdings which is listed on the Malawi Stock Exchange(MSE).
