President of Chilungamo Party (CP) Comrade Ahaji Imraan Jumbe, has paid his tribute to the departed late Vice President of Malawi Dr. Saulosi Chilima whose untimely demise has left Malawians in a state of shock and profound sorrow.
Alhaji Jumbe says Chilima’s death has left the entire country speechless, grappling with the gravity of losing a man of such caliber and a true asset to the nation claiming that he was the embodiment of hard work and dedication.
He says Dr. Chilima rose through the ranks driven by an unyielding commitment to his duties and an unshakable belief in the potential of Malawi saying his courage was his compass guiding him through the stormy seas of political life with a steady hand and a resolute “Fortune favors the brave” and Dr. Chilima was indeed a brave soul, unwavering in the face of diversity.
In his tribute, Alhaji Jumbe says Dr. Chilima was a man who wore his patriotism like a balge of honour ever ready to serve his country with favour and devotion, “a true patriot,” saying Dr. Chilima’s love for Malawi was evident in every action he took and every speech he delivered and every policy he championed.
Alhaji Jumbe has thanked UTM party for establishing an independent investigation into this tragic incident,” Truth will be out,” saying Malawians are committed to uncovering the facts and realities surrounding the death of Dr. Chilima.
He says in his future articles, he will delve deeper into the circumstances of this tragedy bringing to light the facts and realities surrounding the cause of his death advising Malawians that in this hour, they should hold on to the light that Dr. Chilima shown upon this nation.
Alhaji Jumbe says Dr. Chilima’s contributions to Malawi were immense, and his spirit will forever remain a part of the country’s national fabric advising Malawians that as they are mourning, they should also celebrate his life and the indelible mark he has left in the country.
“Rest in peace, Dr. Saulosi Chilima, your legacy will live on, and your spirit will guide us as we navigate the future without you, may all souls of the 8 others, rest in eternal peace,” reads Comrade Jumbe’s writing on the wall.
Meanwhile, Government has released a burial program for the departed Vice President Dr. Saulosi Chilima and the other 8 individuals including former First Lady Patricia Shanil Dzimbiri who died in a plane crash in Chikangawa Forest in Mzimba district on Monday, 10th June, 2024.
According to the program, on Friday the 14th June, 2024 there will be a Mass at St. Patrick’s Parish in Area 18-Lilongwe, on Sunday, the 16th June, 2024 there will be a public funeral ceremony at Civo stadium and thereafter, the body of the Vice President will leave Lilongwe for Nsipe-Ntcheu where he will be laid to rest.
And on the same program, the country’s former First Lady Patricia Shanil Dzimbiri will be buried with military honour on Friday, 14th June, 2024 in Balaka.
