All is set for MCP  convention – Msukwa

Malawi Congress Party chairman of convention steering committee Kezzie Msukwa says all is ready and set  for the party to host its elective convention on 8th to 10th  August at Bingu international Convention center (BICC) in Lilongwe.

Msukwa made the remarks during the press briefing on surtday at MCP headquarters in Lilongwe.

Msukwa stated that the party will elect or re-election it’s members into different positions available in the National Executive Committee (NEC).

He further lamented that candidates participating in the nomination process shall contribute towards financing the cost of running the convention by paying non- refundable fees.

Msukwa discloses that for those vying for presidency shall pay K5000 000, those who vying for two second vice president shall pay K2,500 000 for the position of the party secretary general shall pay K2000,000, first and deputy treasure general shall pay K1000,000, all the directors shall pay 500,000,  the the position of the deputy directors shall pay K250000 and women, the  disabled and youths who are below 35 years of age shall pay half of the mount according to positions they are willing to compete for.

He added that the cost of holding the convention will be announced later but he urges the party loyalist voluntarily to contribute towards costing of the convention 2024 by depositing their contribution to NBS bank

Msukwa was accompanied with two committee members Moses Kunkuyu and Josephy Njobvuyalema says the closing of collecting nomination forms will be on 15th July 2024.
